Morning Routine & Studio Setup
We start the day with a cup of coffee (or tea!) and set up our workspace.
For our makers, those first few moments are all about setting up. Tools are laid out, materials are prepped, and any issues from the day before are followed up and checked. We look at what’s on the list for the day—whether it’s a batch of Cross my Heart necklaces, a pile of Posy and Spring designs, or a fresh restock of your favourite rings.
On the admin side, the first step is checking in with our customers. We review new orders, open our inbox, and catch up on Facebook and Instagram DMs. It’s a mix of conversations, updates, and lovely messages from you—our community.
Crafting & Creation Process
This is where the magic happens ✨
Our makers get stuck into preparing materials—measuring chain lengths, selecting symbols to be stamped onto pendant, or ensuring any customer notes are clear. Every order is different, which keeps things exciting.
We double-check every single detail—especially spelling and alignment—before a single letter is stamped. Once it’s stamped, we move on to polishing, drilling, and assembling each piece. It’s a hands-on, step-by-step process that requires focus and care.
Some pieces involve soldering and shaping metal, others are hand-stamped or finished with birthstones or flowers. No matter the design, every item is carefully handcrafted with your story in mind.
Admin side of a Small Business
Once pieces are made, it’s time for the admin hustle.
We do a full quality check of each item, making sure everything is just right. Then it’s on to printing shipping labels, writing personalised notes, and carefully packing up your orders. We take pride in every detail—from the way a chain sits in the box to adding the correct birthstone cards.
Behind the scenes, there’s also customer support, replying to emails and DMs, updating product listings, and scheduling social media posts. It’s a constant balance between making and managing—but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Fun Bits – Birthday Cakes & Photoshoots
Not every moment in the studio is planned—and we kind of love it that way. Some days, we pause everything for a quick morning tea (because birthday cake and celebrating each other is so important). Other times, the light hits just right and we end up in the middle of an impromptu product photoshoot—grabbing props, styling flatlays, and snapping behind-the-scenes shots for the website and our socials. These little moments bring so much joy to our space and remind us why we love working in a creative, close-knit team.
Wrapping Up the Day
At the end of the day, we take time to clean up our workspace, restock tools, and do final order checks.
We reflect on the day—what we made, what we loved, and what we want to improve tomorrow. Seeing pieces come to life and knowing they’ll soon be in your hands (or gifted to someone you love!) is such a rewarding feeling.
