This Privacy Policy explains how KBN Jewellery ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What information we collect
We collect personal information that you provide and that we gather automatically, including:
- Contact and order details — your name, email address, postal address, phone number and the details of your order (including any personalisation you supply, such as names or initials).
- Payment information — processed securely by our payment providers. We do not store your full card details (see "Payments" below).

We generally collect this information directly from you. In some cases we receive it from third parties such as our payment, shipping or marketing providers.

4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with trusted service providers who help us run our business, including:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform and website host;
- payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay);
- shipping and fulfilment partners (e.g. Australia Post and our shipping-protection provider);
- email and SMS marketing platforms;
- analytics and advertising providers (e.g. Meta, Google); and
- professional advisers or authorities where required or permitted by law.
These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including Shopify, and our analytics and advertising partners) store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. Where we disclose your information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it's handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. By providing your information, you consent to this overseas disclosure.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways. Your card data is encrypted and handled by those providers under their own privacy and security standards — we do not store your full card number. For more detail you can review Shopify's Terms and Privacy Policy.
7. Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (including the Meta Pixel and Google analytics/advertising tools) to keep your cart working, understand how the site is used, and show you relevant advertising. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you do.
8. Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including through our use of secure, PCI-DSS compliant platforms. We keep your information only for as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet our legal obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
9. Children
Our products include gifts for children, but our store is intended to be used by adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Just email hello@kbnjewellery.com.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.
11. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or believe we've breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us first at hello@kbnjewellery.com.au so we can try to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
